Ryan Braun, Kate Tucker, The Mugs
Got an email today from Kofi Annon telling me I'm could receive compensation from the United Nations...man these spammers are getting creative.

Was pretty happy to see Ryan Braun take home the NL Rookie of the Year hardware yesterday. Braun, a third basemen for the Brewers, edged out the phenomenal shortstop of the Rockies, Troy Tulowitzki, by only two votes. It really could have gone either way, but chicks dig the long ball, so Braun had Tulowitzki in that category. After being called up in May, Braun went on to hit .324 with 34 HR and 97 RBI, in addition to slugging .634, the highest percentage for any rookie in MLB history. Unfortunately, his 26 errors were also tied for tops in the league. Once Braun shores up his defense he'll be a cornerstone franchise third basemen without any doubt.
Now, if only he could grow out some Robin Yount-esque facial hair he'd look as cool as Penguin's center Maxime Talbot.
If you're in need of an afternoon pick me up later today, put down that Snickers and drop by WOXY.com at 2 pm ET today to catch a live performance from The Mugs.
Featured Artist: Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden

Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden bring their dreamy eclectic sound to your speakers with a delicately produced debut album.
On her self-titled debut, Kate Tucker sings stories of loves, lost hours, inevitable ends, and broken towers. The songs alternate between night-blue longing and emerald sparkle, borne on the wings of Tucker’s haltingly rich voice. The album was recorded and produced by Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip, Holy Ghost Revival) at Bear Creek Studio and features guest vocals by Seattle folk luminary Damien Jurado. This is the first collaboration between Kate and the Swedes. On the debut, Cameron Herrington’s steady understated groove compliments Tucker’s folk-influenced picking patterns, and Mark Isakson provides texture on shimmering Tele’s, sustained ad infinitum with an army of delays. Add Nic Danielson's obsession with The Cocteau Twins and Air, and you have a lushly layered record of bright melodies, which running through even the minor keyed tracks. The band lists influences as diverse as The Police, Starflyer 59, and Sonic Youth. Tucker's vocals recall Beth Orton and Neko Case.
