Bring Back The Guns, Old Time Relijun
If you're in a Pixies or Minutemen mood tonight you might want to take a chance on Bring Back The Guns.

Bring Back The Guns is an experiment in messing around with music at its molecular level: ignoring rules whenever possible and coming up with songs that obey their own whims. Whatever works is extracted from as many traditions as possible, the elements are hurled at each other as hard as possible, and then everyone stands back to see what happens. It's usually fast, short and barely-contained, with weird rhythms knocking up against big melodies, tripping over not-quite-but-almost over-the-top guitar work. Influences? They're present, but never aped. The Pixies is certainly there in the big guitar melodies, but ultimately, Bring Back The Guns sounds like Bring Back The Guns. Bring Back The Guns has toured with The Toadies, The Octopus Project, Old Time Relijun and Danielson among others.

Along those same lines, but perhaps a bit more even on the peripheral even than Bring Back The Guns is Washington's Old Time Relijun.

According to the PR release from Fanatic,
“This is a war cry!” Can you hear it? Old Time Relijun continues to break the confinement of rock-cliché with its newest release, Catharsis In Crisis. Song after song, the ferocity of lead singer Arrington De Dionyso draws listeners deeper into a world where language, rhythm and unrepentant libido collide. This music is temperamental, unwieldy and unyielding; aimed to cut listeners to the bone. Catharsis in Crisis was written and recorded at Calvin Johnson’s fabled Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, Washington in four inspired days and nights. Legendary producer Steve Fisk was recruited to mix this raw material into OTR's most fully realized album to date.
