The Weatherman/Waiting

I just, JUST saw a preview for the upcoming Michael Caine/Nic Cage film, "The Weatherman," while watching the USC-Notre Dame game.

What an great looking movie. It has to be good if at one point Michael Caine's advice to Cage comes in the form of Devo lyrics.

Popular Chicago weatherman Dave Spritz has a shot at the big time when a national morning radio show calls him for an audition. Professionally, Dave is on top of the world , but his personal life is in complete disarray. The harder he tries to hold on, the more he loses his grip.

The film, directed by Gore Verbinski, opens Oct. 28th. Count me in.

UPDATE: So I went and saw "Waiting" tonight. Terrible movie. I was absolutely dissapointed with the effort. To think, a movie with Dane Cook and Ryan Reynolds being that bad? Chris thought it was funny. Don't get me wrong: I like cock jokes, vaginas "Oh it looks angry!" and underage sex as much as the next guy, but fuck, at least make it worth the 8 dollars I have to pay to see it. Or you could just go ahead and cast Ryan Reynolds' Van Wilder character in a restaurant movie, throw in some usual MTV charicatures like two white dopeheads who think they're black, a few (mostly underage) slutty girls, a shy guy, and a wise dishwasher and call it a feature film. Tisk, Ryan Reynolds, tisk.
